Mapping of QTLs for Brown Rice Traits Based on Chromosome Segment Substitution Line in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

چکیده

Brown rice traits are critical to both grain yield and quality. In the present study, chromosome segment substitution lines (CSSLs) population derived from a cross between japonica Koshihikari indica Nona Bokra was used analyze brown length (BRL), width (BRW), length–width ratio of (BLWR), thickness (BRT), perimeter (BRP), area (BRA), thousand-grain weight (BRGW), (BRR), taste value (BTV), water content (BWC). Correlations analysis showed that most had significant correlations with each other, except for BRR, BTV, BWC. A total sixty-one QTLs these were identified under three environments, which mapped chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, LOD ranging 2.52 16.68 accounting 2.60 25.38% phenotypic variations. Moreover, thirty pairs epistatic interactions BRL, BRW, BLWR, BRP, BRA estimated distributed on all 10. These findings will provide further understanding genetic basis facilitate improvement quality through breeding.

QTL mapping of grain length in rice (Oryza sativa L.) using chromosome segment substitution lines.

Chromosome segment substitution (CSS) lines have the potential for use in QTL fine mapping and map-based cloning. The standard t-test used in the idealized case that each CSS line has a single segment from the donor parent is not suitable for non-idealized CSS lines carrying several substituted segments from the donor parent. In this study, we present a likelihood ratio test based on stepwise r...

Mapping QTLs for Physiological Traits Associated with Drought Tolerance in Rice (Oryza Sativa L.)

Drought is the most important limiting factor for crop production and it is becoming an increasingly severe problem in many regions of the world [1]. According to FAO statistics, the percentage of drought affected land areas more than doubled from the 1970s to the early 2000s in the world [2]. Drought is a world-spread problem seriously influencing grain production and quality and with increasi...

Identification of QTLs for new formed root architectural traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) after transplantation

Transplanting has been the most widespread planting technique for rice production in Asia. It is estimated that more than 85% of rice production in china, and almost 100% in Northeast China adopted transplanting. The healthy and vigorous seeding can reduce thetransplanting shock’ and is the most important for final yield formation. The large root diameter, long root length, large surface area a...

Identification of Qtls for Brown Planthopper (nilaparvata Lugens Stal.) Resistance in Ril Mapping Population of Rice (oryza Sativa L.)

The brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stal.) is one of the major insect pests of rice (Oryza sativa L.). Exploitation of Host Plant Resistance is a major component to manage this pest. The development of rice varieties that are resistant to the brown planthopper is an important objective in current breeding programmes. This study was undertaken to identify QTLs for BPH resistance from an el...

Mapping Quantitative Trait Loci Associated with Toot Traits Using Sequencing-Based Genotyping Chromosome Segment Substitution Lines Derived from 9311 and Nipponbare in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Identification of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with rice root morphology provides useful information for avoiding drought stress and maintaining yield production under the irrigation condition. In this study, a set of chromosome segment substitution lines derived from 9311 as the recipient and Nipponbare as donor, were used to analysis root morphology. By combining the resequencing...
